Chinese Politics and East Asia

At the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) at UCSD, I am the Teaching Assistant for Chinese Politics (Fall 2011, Spring 2011, Spring 2010) and U.S.-China Relations (Winter 2012) under Susan Shirk.

My current research interests in Chinese politics includes the role of regional identity in elite and central-local politics, electoral rules and veto gates in Hong Kong's Legislative Council, and the incentives, institutions, and actors involved in Mainland religious affairs with a focus on China's Catholics.

I am also a loyal follower of the politics and elections of Taiwan.
